Palmer Trucks raises $13,520 for major children’s charity
On Saturday, June 1 in Louisville, KY, Palmer Trucks presented a $13,520 donation to the WHAS Crusade for Children, one of the nation’s oldest and largest charities. Since mid-march, Palmer’s Kenworth of Louisville dealership team has pioneered and led the charity effort by selling $5 raffle tickets for a fully-stocked TRP toolbox worth $4,000. Second and third place prizes were $300 and $100 respectively.
The WHAS Crusade for Children, Inc. established in 1954 by WHAS-TV, raises money for agencies, schools and hospitals to make life better for children with special needs with 100% of proceeds benefiting the mission directly. With nearly 3,000 tickets sold at the Mid-America Truck Show, across the Palmer Trucks Kenworth dealer network, and throughout the Louisville community, Palmer Trucks upholds its commitment to give back to the community. Investing in people both within the organization and community is a hallmark principle established by founder Eldon Palmer.
Raising funds for WHAS Children’s Crusade is a labor of love and a testament to teamwork. It is our duty to be good citizens of the community as well as a business entity. On Saturday, June 1st, Mason, the son of a Kenworth of Louisville team member, had the honors of drawing the lucky winners. Mason benefited from the generosity of the WHAS Children’s Crusade when he was younger, and Palmer Trucks could not think of a better way to conduct the televised event. With a Kenworth studio sleeper honoring our armed forces in the background, a large check was presented by General Manager John Yehl to the WHAS Children’s Crusade. It’s the community at-large that’s truly kept Palmer Trucks – On the Road Since 1965, and the entire organization is thrilled and honored to give back.
